In the City of Baker School System (CBSS) our work is focused on ensuring that every student graduates from high school with the skills required to be prepared for college and the 21st century workplace. As a part of these efforts, the CBSS continually measures the progress our students make. Throughout the school year, teachers test, or assess, students on what they have learned and what they can do. Assessments include online testing, paper-and-pencil tests, oral and written reports, performances, and projects. Teachers or the companies that publish the textbooks used in schools create some of the tests our students take. However, these tests are also created in EAGLE and Acuity. Other tests, such as the iLEAP, LEAP and end-of-course assessments in the core subjects are provided by the state for use in all public schools.

In the City of Baker School District, educators, parents, and students use test results to

  • Shape lesson plans for individual students
  • Follow student progress
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in curriculum and instruction
  • Gather information that can be used to improve student performance
  • Identify students who may need extra academic support

As a district, we also use assessment testing information to make decisions about where resources and funding should go, and about what types of supports to provide to teachers. We hope that parents also can use this information to make informed decisions about the education of their children. The Student Progress Center is a unique web-based tool that allows parents to securely view their child’s progress grades and attendance. In addition, please see the helpful links below.

PARENT GUIDE TO LEAP 2025 TESTS
